Essential Skills is currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield, Sooner Care and private pay.
Evaluation:
Includes a combination of structured/standardized testing and clinical observations to assess visual motor, fine motor, as well as gross motor skills. The session typically lasts 1 hour with the child and parent/guardian. A comprehensive report is provided to the family.
Individual Therapy:
60 minute session of direct time with the child and parent/guardian.
Therapeutic Listening Program:
A program may be designed for a child to help reduce auditory sensitivity, increase auditory processing/perception, and improve overall attention toward auditory input. Special training is required to create a program that is appropriate for each child and special equipment is also used.
Astronaut Training Program:
This program involves the use of a special spinning board, music, and pen lights to improve vestibular processing and ocular motor skills. The parent/guardian can be instructed in a home program for more rapid and consistent progress.
The Alert Program for Self-Regulation: How does your engine run:
This program involves teaching children how to change their alert level and to teach parents/guardians how to support learning, attending and positive behaviors. These self-regulation strategies can be used in your daily routines, to include at home, school and in the community.
